ABOUT US
Claire Dickson Boutique, at 545 Germantown Pike, was
started by Claire Dickson nearly 30 years ago when her
son, David, and daughter Debbie, were off at college,
allowing her more free time. It started small with the
encouragement of Claire's late husband, who suggested
that Claire do what she does best, shop and surround
herself with high fashions. With those words of encouragement
and an initial investment of just $1,600, Claire was
off to New York, where she purchased novelty sweaters.
She displayed these sweaters on a single counter at
a Lafayette Hill Salon, and within a few days they were
all sold. So back to New York for more sweaters and
sportswear and the store was born. Two years later,
daughter Debbie graduated from Dickinson College, while
contemplating law school and interviewing with Xerox
and IBM, Claire asked her to help out at the boutique
to help meet the increasing demands. They quickly recognized
their talent as a team and really enjoyed this new relationship.
In 1984 the boutique moved from within the salon to
their own space. In 1996 they expanded again, doubling
in size, increasing their staff, their merchandise,
and allowing for an alteration department. Claire and
Debbie continue weekly buying trips to New York and
now shop the Paris and Milan markets as well.
Today, this upscale boutique offers everything from
trendy sportswear to exclusive eveningwear, and a full
range of accessories. Claire, Debbie, and their staff
of experienced stylists are hands on, and always available
to fulfill all your fashion needs in a professional
and friendly manner.
